Wildlife photography is a mesmerizing art form that not only captures the beauty and diversity of the natural world but also serves as a powerful tool for conservation, education, and inspiration. Through the lens of a camera, photographers have the ability to transport viewers to remote landscapes, unveil the mysteries of elusive creatures, and evoke a deep appreciation for the fragile ecosystems that sustain life on our planet. As stewards of the natural world, wildlife photographers have the power to inspire change, raise awareness, and foster a deeper appreciation for the beauty and diversity of our planet's precious ecosystems.

This workshop, will be a detailed overnight workshop that deals with intricate details of photography, with respect to nature and wildlife photography, Detailed hands-on field sessions and classroom sessions will be involved with live demonstrations. The workshop will take in only a limited number of people to facilitate one-on-one interactions.

 

Expert Name: - Mr. Nayan Khanolkar

Mr. Nayan Khanolkar is an avid nature photographer, who has been traveling the length and breadth of India to document Indian wildlife for nearly three decades. Being a biology lecturer by profession supplements his understanding of flora and fauna and animal behavior. He has won many international awards - Wildlife Photographer of the year, World Press Photo, Big Picture Award to name a few. For last few years he has exclusively focused on man animal conflict and is consistently striving to raise awareness on conservation of India’s rich wildlife heritage and sensitize people regarding animal behavior through his photography.

Maximum Participants: 15 persons only (On first come basis)

Fees Per Participants: 5,500/- INR

Fees for Members: 5,200/- INR

Fees Includes: Experts Charges, Dormitory Stay and CEC Charges

(Note*: Participants have to pay extra Rs. 700/- in cash on arrival for Food i.e. 4 Tea, 2 Refreshments, 1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast)

*Day One* 20th April (Saturday) 02:30 PM to 02:45 PM: Assemble at CEC, Goregaon & Registration

02:45 PM to 03:00 PM: Refreshment

03:00 PM to 04:00 PM: Orientation

04:00 PM to 04:15 PM: Tea Break

04:15 PM to 05:30 PM: Practical Session on Construction of Hide

05:30 PM to 07:00 PM: Session on Equipment Testing

07:00 PM to 07:30 PM: Snacks Break

07:30 PM to 09:30 PM: Classroom Session on Lightroom Cataloguing

09:30 PM to 10:30 PM: Dinner

10:30 PM: Lights off

 

 *Day Two* 21st April (Sunday)

06:00 AM: Wake-Up Call

07:00 AM to 08:30 AM: Nature Trail and Wildlife Photography in BNHS Nature Reserve

08:30 AM to 09:30 AM:  Tea & Breakfast

09:30 AM to 11:00 AM: Evaluation of Photos (Only 5 Photos per participant)

11:00 AM to 11:15 AM: Break

11:15 AM to 12:00 PM: Discussion & Feedback

12:00 PM: Vote of thanks & Conclusion

 

Points to be noted:

1. Participants should bring their own camera and other related equipment’s.

2. Clean, hygienic and homely vegetarian food will be served as per itinerary.

3. Separate dormitory stay will be provided with bedding for male and female participants.

4. Please carry some insect repellents for protection against mosquitos.

5. Wear full clothes, Cap and a good pair of walking shoes for outdoor sessions.

6. Carry your water bottle, which you can refill at CEC.

About Conservation Education Centre (CEC): The CEC is a privately protected forest area adjoining the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai. Spread over 33 acres of natural forest, the centre has numerous nature trails that crisscross over a variety of different habitats and provide plenty of opportunities for engaging with the wilderness. In the centre building, it has spacious rooms for dormitory accommodations separately for males and females. Separate hygiene facilities for males and females are available in the centre. The area is guarded round the clock by our private guards.
