Lahaul – Spiti & Pin Valley National Park

Lahaul – Spiti is the northern district of Himachal Pradesh, less frequented by tourists. Pin Valley National Park is situated in the cold desert region of Spiti valley, with its snow-laden slopes, and is a refuge for one of the world’s most threatened animals, the Snow Leopard. The park is also home to Siberian Ibex and Tibetan Wolf. Birds like Horned Lark, Eurasian Magpie, Chukar Partridge, Upland Buzzard, Hill Pigeon, Tibetan Sandgrouse, Mountain Chiffchaff, Alpine Chough, and Wallcreeper can be seen here.

Grade: Moderate (4-6 km walks for birding in high altitude)
