Lesser Florican

The Endangered Lesser Florican Sypheotides indicus, endemic to the Indian subcontinent, is yet another grassland species that has seen a steady decline in India. It has been the focus of BNHS studies for several years now. Currently, with the support of Rajasthan Forest Department, BNHS has resumed the survey of the Lesser Florican in the State’s Shokaliya region in Ajmer, with focus on long-term conservation.
