Upper Kanheri Trail at Sanjay Gandhi National Park

A gradual climb through the wooded forest of Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). It is the perfect time to see Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Shikra, Grey Junglefowl and Indian Peafowl. The trail leads to a rocky plateau near Kanheri caves, strewn with grass and Euphorbia, which affords spectacular views of the National Park and of raptors like Crested Serpent Eagle soaring on thermals.

Cost includes refreshments, transport from and to the main gate, entry to the park and permission charges

Grade: Easy to moderate (34 km undulating walk)

Reporting: 6:15 a.m. sharp at the Main Gate of Sanjay Gandhi National Park (Borivali)
