Job Description: To develop a dedicated team of people to undertake conservation advocacy at national level. The person is expected to develop conservation policies for the BNHS which in turn will be used as core advocacy tool with various governments, corporates and financial institutions. He/she will also oversee the implementation of conservation related field surveys, rapid appraisal site visits and campaigns, organize NGO network for conservation interventions, and undertake focused conservation oriented projects. The person is required to raise sufficient financial resources to run the Conservation Department and the conservation agenda of the BNHS.
Job Specifications: The potential candidate should possess a post graduate degree in Life Science/Zoology/Botany with 10-15 years of field experience in Conservation Biology, Nature Education and Nature Conservation with minimum 10 years direct experience in conservation activities. Preferably with Ph.D. degree. Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills are necessary. Experience of executing big conservation oriented research projects will be necessary. A good scientific temperament is essential. Previous knowledge of large fund raising is required. He/she should have research publications in national and international journals. Familiarity with various acts and legislations related to conservation will be preferred. Good physical health for rigorous field surveys is essential.
